WAITING FOR ANSWERS TO MY QUESTIONS!
Hello,
This is my contribution for Tuesday's City Council meeting:
Good morning,
I am of the opinion that our City Council needs to hear the same thing from me over and over.
My questions about the land swap have not been answered. City officials and members of this council have lied publicly, and have even defamed my character.
What is the estimated cost of the needed repairs on the section of the Barr Trail that the City acquired in the land swap with the Broadmoor Hotel?
The trail is said to need $40,000 of annual maintenance, that is a symptom of extreme drainage problems. The trail is constantly deteriorating because it was built nearly 100 years ago. This was before the Forest Service understood drainage issues.
Please tell me the estimated cost of the needed drainage study.
What is the estimated cost of the actual drainage improvements?
What is the estimated cost to repair the erosion damage on the hillside?
What is the estimated cost for all obstacle removal, trail stabilization, repair of existing washouts, etc.?
What is the estimated cost to replace the fence?
These necessary repairs were not considered when the Broadmoor had the appraisal prepared for that land.
Even if the appraisal is technically still valid I asked and asked these questions during the public comment process.
The public was deprived of the knowledge that this land needs hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of work.
The public was told that this land was worth $1.3 million. The fact that it needs between $500,000 and $1,000,000 in repairs would change how the public felt about the deal.
The public comment process was flawed because the city flat out refused to answer these questions.
This fact must be disclosed to the public today.
Thank you, Carl Strow
Is the public now allowed to speak in person during Citizen's Discussion?
