Here is my contribution for the City Council today:
Good afternoon,
I sent complaints on August 7th to GOCO, the State Auditor’s Office, and the Inspector Generals of FEMA, of HUD, and of the Department of Agriculture which has oversight on the Forest Service.
In my complaints I raised questions about omissions in the City's grant applications, and the permitting for the most recent work done on the Incline .I specifically asked what the engineering reports obtained by the Manitou Incline Task Force said about the long term stability of the Incline.
Since that time I have received a steady stream of reply’s that are stupid. They disregard the content of my complaint and avoid all issues. They are insulting and offensive. I am certain that they are the product of tampering.I did not act on my own in sending those complaints, I had direction, and someone is interfering in the investigation that seeks to eventually close the Incline.
Do members of this Council have any information as to who might be tampering with the complaint process? I have asked members of this Council what the Task Force was told about the long term stability of the Incline. Please tell us now. The City is charging ahead with the Incline as if nothing is wrong with it. Please assure us publicly that the work we performed with State and Federal grant money is sound.
As you may recall you had Kurt Schroeder of Parks and Recreation reply to these questions last spring and he lied to me, saying that the Task Force did not explore whether the Incline would be stable over the long term.
We need to know the truth. What have members of the City Council learned?
Are we to assume that each member of this Council has reviewed all of my allegations concerning the land swap, and that you still stand by it? You have found no justification to reverse the land swap, and no problems which are even worth mentioning.
Let me remind you that you serve the people who elected you. Evil triumphs when good men do nothing. Our nation is made great by that one person who stands up and says I cannot remain silent anymore.
I understand the reasons that the council likes to stick together in certain matters, but you should only stand united behind that which is right. Are the more corrupt members of this Council dragging the entire body down? Are the good Council members being taken advantage of?
