Hi everyone:
An orca died in the dolphinarium, Loro Parque, in the Canary Islands, last week. Her name was Skyla, she was only 15 years old and she died away from her mother, from whom she was separated when she was only 2 years old at SeaWorld (United States), and without ever having known freedom.
Loro Parque assures that Skyla was "in perfect condition". But how can she be in perfect condition if she spent her whole life in an artificial tank swimming in circles, forced to participate in shows and unable to interact freely? We cannot continue to allow this.
That is why I ask you to continue sharing my petition to ask the Spanish Government to ban dolphinariums in our country. Copy and share:

Countries like Cyprus, Slovenia, Croatia, Costa Rica, Chile or India have already banned this type of dolphinarium. They have recognized that dolphins and other animals such as orcas are animals endowed with high social intelligence, in need of their community to develop. They are autonomous and self-aware beings who want to make their decisions about what they do and where they go, and who also suffer from psychological disorders. Meanwhile, Spain continues to be one of the largest cetacean prisons in the world.
I ask you to continue sharing my petition. That you do it for Skyla, who deserves to have led a life very different from the one they imposed on her, and for all those animals that today are still locked up in one of the 11 dolphinariums in our country, used to enrich a few business.
