We want stopping of ELEPHANT TRAFIC IN THAILAND

Camps and elephant rides are a must for thousands of vacationers who flock to Thailand every year. But beyond the happy smiles of tourists posing with elephants and élephantaux adorable, there is a dark hidden reality. Young calves are still systematically removed from their homes in the forest in Myanmar. Extracted from the forest, the calves are separated from their mothers and families, and then subjected to a brutal practice in which they are attached, locked up, starved, beaten and tortured to break their spirit. The ruthless exploitation of these elephants is indescribable. For each captured wild elephant happens in camp, it is estimated that two more will die during the process of "domestication" and up to five others have been killed in the forest when capturing, destroying the remaining wild populations of this endangered species.

Conservative estimates indicate that at least 50-100 elephenteaux are still sold illegally through Thailand each year to supply the tourist camps.

Association Elephant Family is at the forefront of efforts to fight against this trade.

I want to join this association by informing them of this petition to fight against this horrible traffic.
