For our animals welfare, sell silent fireworks to the public and license loud fire works.

The Issue

Every year, the sound of fireworks fills the air, bringing with it excitement and celebrations. However, on countless occasions, I have witnessed the terror that loud fireworks bring to our beloved pets and wildlife. Every fireworks season, I am overwhelmed with fear for our animal companions who cannot understand the source of the loud booms and explosive bangs. Many animals suffer trauma due to these sounds, and tragically, some even die from fright.

The issue of noisy fireworks is not just a minor annoyance; it poses a significant threat to animal welfare. According to a recent study by the British Veterinary Association, 62% of dogs, 54% of cats, and 55% of horses show signs of distress during fireworks displays. This is a clear indicator that current regulations are not enough and change is required. By making this adjustment, we can celebrate without compromising the safety of our beloved animals.

By limiting the sale of explosive, noisy fireworks to licensed operators and making silent fireworks available to the general public, not only can we continue to enjoy and celebrate this event, we can mitigate the stress and anxiety faced by countless animals. Silent fireworks provide all the visual beauty and splendour of traditional fireworks, without the accompanying noise that unsettles animals and disrupts communities.

It is time we take a stand for our animals and promote the sale of silent fireworks to the general public. Let us advocate for the licensing and regulation of loud fireworks, ensuring they are used responsibly and restricted for use only on specific occasions, such as Bonfire Night and New Year's Eve, in controlled environments where the impact can be better managed.  and in controlled environments.

Let's take a stand for the voiceless in our community. The beauty of fireworks should not come at the cost of animal welfare. Together, we can ensure that all celebrations are joyous and inclusive. Please lend your voice to this cause by signing this petition and urging policymakers to make compassionate changes to our fireworks regulations. Your signature can make a difference, so please sign now and share this petition with your friends and family.
