For Notts County Council to spend an EXTRA £20million fixing our roads and pavements!

The Issue

To, Nottinghamshire County Councillors,

LOVE YOUR ROADS (and pavements),

We are the residents of Nottinghamshire, living every day with the reality of our broken roads and pavements.  This year alone, a record number of us had to file compensation claims due to pot-hole damage to our vehicles.

Our lives are being put in danger by these hazardous conditions, and we've had enough.

We all share a common concern about the state of our infrastructure. We're angry at how the Conservatives have failed us, leaving us with broken promises instead of fixing our broken roads.

However, there's hope on the horizon - The Independent Alliance opposition group is proposing an alternative budget that would provide £10million in additional funding for road repairs over each of the next two years.

This is a legal and balanced budget proposal that will become reality if we make our voices heard. This funding would come from selling land purchased by the County Council in 2019 for HS2 - making those broken promises fix broken roads.

We implore every Nottinghamshire County Council member to support this alternative budget on Thursday, 22 February. It's time they showed some love for our roads (and pavements) by prioritising their repair and maintenance.  No more botched jobs.

Whatever your politics, please sign this petition, together we can finally get our roads (and pavements) fixed!
