I wasn’t going to post anymore updates to this petition, but I think this is an important one and one that is extremely relevant to the campaign.

The release of the New Beginnings pack in February 2020 became a reality with the inclusion of the white and red Air Ship PE packaged together with the Air Jordan 1. Rumors of the actual black and red combo of the Air Ship Pro soon followed and toward the end of July 2020, cryptic videos and images began to surface on Instagram by a sneaker boutique in Bologna, Italy named Back Door Bottega.

We soon learn that Jordan Brand supplied Back Door Bottega with exclusive access to sell the shoes in Italy. Shop owner Marco Evangelisti along with Jordan PE collector, Gerard Starkey continued to tell the story of the Air Ship and the meaning it has with so many collectors and fans around the world. The shoes were raffled and sold only in Italy on August 7, 2020 for 200,00€ which is equivalent to about $227 in the United States. The following day on August 8, 2020, the Air Ship Pro dropped in Europe through their SNKRS app in limited quantities.

So now the questions continue. Will the Air Ship Pro make it’s way to the United States and if so, when and how much will they cost? October 18 is the day the shoes were “banned” by the NBA way back in 1984. This year, the date falls on a Sunday and it would be the perfect opportunity time to do so on it’s 36th anniversary date. Will it happen? Will it release to the masses this time? Only time will tell and I’ll be right here updating you all when and if any information begins to leak. Stay tuned Air Ship fans!
