22 Jan 2020
I think it’s safe to say that we’ve finally declared victory! The Nike Air Ship has officially been announced by Nike on this day, January 22, 2020. It will release during NBA All-Star weekend on February 12, 2020 at a retail price of $350. The pack will include an OG cut of the Air Jordan 1 in white/red and the Nike Air Ship in white/red. It will also be limited so if you want it, keep your eyes peeled. Especially if you’re going to be in Chicago.
Thank you to all 2,020 of you (coincidence) who signed and supported this campaign for Nike to retro the Air Ship. This journey started back in 2012 when I asked a simple question in the sneaker forums regarding the ban and MJ’s choice of footwear. From there, we figured the Air Ship was the shoe he wore during his rookie campaign. I’ve done countless videos, posts, articles and interviews regarding the shoes since this time and I’m glad to say it’s finally come to fruition.
Again, thank you all for assisting and pushing this dream turn into reality. Thank you Jordan Brand for listening to the people and allowing people like us influence and play a part in the story. Hopefully with this introduction of the Air Ship, we’ll also see the actual “banned” colorway make its way into existence. Only time will tell.
