In less than 2 months, 4 young beautiful Iranian women with glorious hopes and dreams were murdered in the hands of their father, fiancé & uncles. This new horrifying trend picked up after the story of ‘Romina Ashrafi (14 years old) was murdered by hands of her own father for running away from her toxic household last month. Her father is only facing a penalty of maximum 7 years in prison rather than the typical death penalty, because he is protected by Iran’s wrongful “Honor Killing Laws”.  

The honor killing law protect only male figures against women who are “perceived” to have brought dishonor to the family. In other words, women are the only victims of honor killing not only in Iran but in other middle eastern countries. Iran’s government is failing to protect women from this terrible discrimination and violence happening too often.
