Lily, our beloved 20-year-old dog, who has been a treasured part of our family for a solid 13 years, mysteriously disappeared on January 11. A beacon of love and cherished companion, she was discovered and taken to the Campbell County Animal Shelter on January 13. Despite our pleads and cries, the shelter recklessly accused us of neglect because Lily was found missing with health problems, most of which were within our knowledge. Lily did not suffer neglect. Over the past 13 years, we have showered her with love and attentive care. 

Trying to reclaim Lily, my family and I were faced with numerous charges, which escalated with each phone call, making it impossible to bring her home. Every attempt hit a dead end, exacerbated by the distance we had to reach the shelter. This heartbreaking situation is affecting us deeply and depriving Lily of the hospice care she deserves in her final days.

We strongly request that this petition forces the Campbell County Animal Shelter to cease their unjust accusations, and allow Lily to return home. We want to provide our dog, a dear family member, the hospice care she dearly needs surrounded by her loving family. Please support us in this fight for Lily's rights and let her spend her remaining time in the comfort and warmth of her home. Sign this petition to demand that Campbell County Animal Shelter release Lily back to her family, or release her from any rescue, foster home, or hospice care she may be in.
