The Issue

On June 24, two massive earthquakes devastated Venezuela. Thousands are dead. Tens of thousands are missing. Families are rebuilding from the rubble. The situation is dire and the needs are immeasurable.

The FIFA World Cup has honoured Venezuela with moments of silence during the tournament — a moving show of solidarity. This has inspired a movement rooted in hope. With this petition, we invite the football world to take the next step: to turn that solidarity into direct, tangible help.

We are calling on the World Cup champions to donate ten percent of their prize earnings, and on the second- and third-place teams to donate five percent, to established humanitarian organizations already working on the ground in Venezuela. These donations would make a substantial difference in the ongoing crisis.

The numbers are meaningful but achievable. A fraction of the prize money would provide real relief and hope to so many people during this unimaginably difficult time.

We warmly invite FIFA, every other team, and fans everywhere to join this effort in whatever way they can.

Football has always brought the world together — never more visibly than at the World Cup, when people from every nation share one language for a few weeks. This is a chance to show that the unity football creates can extend beyond the pitch, to people who need it most.

When sport steps up like this, it changes what's possible for us as a global community.

Please sign and share with at least five friends. Sharing this is what will make it happen. Let's show the world how we can unite.
