1.3 billion tons (around one third) of food produced across the planet for human consumption is wasted with 10 million of this from the UK (post farm-gate).

12% of the food wasted in the UK is post purchase. With laws preventing the sale of out of date food, we as consumers are actively wasting food that could have been consumed.

Although actions have led to us reducing food waste by 1.6 million tons, compared to 2007, we at Food4Thought believe we can do better.

Based in Manchester our focus is to reduce the amount of edible food from going to landfills, from supermarkets, restaurants and the everyday consumer, by offering alternative solutions and raising awareness.
