Folks, we've all heard the excuses for why the delicious, chocolate plus surprise treat Kinder Egg cannot be sold in the US. We've seen the memes of the children holding assault rifles (legal in the US) versus enjoying a treat with a toy inside (Illegal in the US).  We've all smuggled Kinder eggs in our carry on bags after trips abroad and just crossed our fingers that we didn't get that one CBP guy who would threaten us with fines of $2500 per egg. 

So imagine my surprise when I come across Yowie Chocolates while standing in the checkout line of my local supermarket.  The chocolate characters are hollow inside and contain a small toy inside a capsule—EXACTLY like the Kinder Surprise Egg. They are sold at a variety of retail stores across the nation.

I am calling for the FDA to revise its policy and explicitly allow Kinder Eggs to be sold in the United States.  I think most of us could use a little bit of extra joy in our lives right now, and this is an easy win for America.
