Holding FOMAA Leaders Accountable

Holding FOMAA Leaders Accountable
The Issue
There are several executive leaders of the current administration who have been abusing their power by harassing (sexually, mentally, emotionally and verbally), women across all ages.
For the last several years, this issue has gone unnoticed and the victims of these incidents felt they had no voice.
It's time to rectify the bylaws and implement the appropriate, law-abiding changes regarding harassment and bullying of members and non-members by FOMAA officials.
We need to also stop idolizing these individuals in these leadership positions who do get away with these heinous acts.
Why is this important?
The mission of the Federation of Malayalee Associations of Americas (FOMAA), is to connect, unite and progress those of Malayalee origin across the United States and Canada.
Unfortunately, over the last several years, there have been several individuals a part of this organization who have been using the organization as a front to harass and belittle women and children.
What We're Asking:
- The immediate removal and suspension of FOMAA officials who are a danger to FOMAA’s reputation and its community - specifically current President Aniyan George, Treasurer Thomas T Oommen, Joint Secretary Jose Manakkate, and former Treasurer and current Ex-Officio Shinu Joseph.
- Addition of safeguards and procedures to FOMAA’s bylaws and policies, in order to protect its volunteers and members against sexual abuse, harassment and discrimination.
- FOMAA to publicly address the issues and make a public apology to community.
- All those who hold a leadership within FOMAA to partake in a mandatory, anti-harassment training
We understand it may be difficult to report sexual and verbal harassment, but we need to start speaking up to prevent it from continuing to happen.
This petition is your sign of solidarity and support to remove these members continuing to hold their leadership positions.
