Dear Friends of Focus on Education A2: 

URGENT Call to Action: Washtenaw County Voters Register with Michigan Dems NOW

You are receiving this email because you signed our petition in January opposing the Ann Arbor Public School's "Ceasefire in Gaza" resolution. We now know those divisive antics were just the tip of the iceberg - just a few weeks later the District announced a surprise $25M deficit which has resulted in program cuts and dozens of classroom teachers losing their jobs. 

Behind the scenes, we have taken the petition's momentum to start Focus on Education A2, a non-profit fighting to get our beloved District back on track. Several AAPS Board of Ed seats are up in November. We are working tirelessly to identify a slate of candidates that align with FOEA2’s mission of improving AAPS and hope to be able to announce the slate soon.  

In the meantime, you must act IMMEDIATELY while we finalize the slate. The Washtenaw County Michigan Democratic Party’s endorsement of BOE candidates is mission critical to winning the election in November. The party votes on endorsements in August, but only those Michigan Dems who are registered with the party by June 25th can vote for the endorsements. We need YOU to register with the Michigan Dems NOW so that we can ensure Democratic candidates aligned with FOEA2's mission and values get the party’s endorsement.

If you are a Washtenaw County voter, please REGISTER as a Basic Member of the Michigan Dems* NOW so that you can participate in the August endorsement vote for Washtenaw County. There are two ways to register, either click on this link or print the form and mail it in with your $10 (must be RECEIVED by June 25th). Do not delay!

We will keep everyone informed on next steps, but this is a first step and it is crucial. Time is of the essence here.
