Whilst other banks offer a payment holiday during the coronavirus outbreak FNB is offering a loan which they say is cheaper in the long run (which it may be) which in three months time you will be required to pay the new loan installment and your current installments which many cannot afford. They refuse to acknowledge that not everyone can afford another installment on top of current installments and would rather have a payment holiday for three months and possibly pay more in the long run. In the terms and conditions for this relief loan it also says that you shouldn’t accept if you cannot afford it as it is an emergency loan with no affordability assessment. Please FNB grant a payment holiday and do not force us into taking an additional loan adding to our overall debt amount and monthly installments in three months time.
