This petition is for banning Florida State University's racist traditions-- the Tomahawk Chop, the line "scalp em' Seminoles" in the fight song, the usage of the Seminole Nation as an operative mascot to depict indigenous peoples as war-like and uncivilized, and the naming of several organizations after Seminole traditions based on a stereotype of native culture. This is the face of FSU: racism, ignorance, and disrespect.

As a school, FSU should promote awareness, education, and equality. Not only do these issues affect the national perception of FSU, but also it's minority students. Many feel unsafe in such a racist environment and the message from administration is clear: We don't care about anti-racism, and we don't care about you.

To make FSU a space for everyone, we need your help. By signing this petition, you are supporting a more inclusive and safe environment for all students.
