Expanding The Exhibits at Zoo Miami

Expanding The Exhibits at Zoo Miami
The Issue
As humans we often take the eco-system and the animals which inhabit it for granted. They all provide pivotal roles in not only our survival but for other species as well. It has come to our attention that the animals within the zoo aren't in the best of accommodations.
It is of upmost importance to expand the existing exhibits at Zoo Miami. Many of the animals DO NOT seem comfortable and it is more than highly possible these animals are under copious amounts stress due to not only having visitors come by on a daily basis but having to live under such inconsiderable circumstances. Yes, there are more than a few zoos comparable to this around the United States but we have noticed the construction of the new Everglades expansion which pushed even further concern. Why have we allowed this to happen when the existing animals barely have enough space themselves to live comfortably? Why should these animals live in such inadequately sized environments?
And with such prestige as this, one of Miami-Dade's former and still overlooked tourist attractions it is hard to piece together why the zoo itself comes off as if it is in such a disarray. The animals are all within habital confined areas from one another, however cramped it may be and continually worsening due to larger exhibits being made/set in motion for the zoo. Although the expansion may leave more room for jobs and revenue, we must consider how to make it not only better for the animals who call this place home but the visitors who come to see its exhibits. We are aware of all the conservation efforts Zoo Miami Foundation has done and are very proud of such efforts as well as how the animals at Zoo Miami are well kept and cared for but it is unpleasant to witness the construction of a new area when the existing exhibits could easily be expanded to give the animals a better quality of life. We are conscious of the fact that we are not the first to have brought these concerns to light, and we surely will not be the last to do so. We are hopeful that with our support, assistance and patience we can make a resolution together. Please give this some consideration, Thank you.
