I live in Polk County Florida. Its the number 1 kill county in the state and number 4 in the nation. There needs to be some mandatory spay and neuter laws put into effect. If your pup gets into the shelter it should have to be altered before it gets returned.Along with that there needs to be breeder licences and facility inspections. That also generates revenue for the county. So many fur babies are dying in shelters everyday. Dogs get surrendered because their to old or we're moving and he/she can't go or we've had her for years now we're having a baby so dog has to go. Then there's the ones that just get dumped due to sickness or they've been abused and no longer wanted. People have even stolen pups out of their yards for breeding, fighting and to use as bait. Rescues try but they cannot keep up. Unless someone stands up to fight for strict laws to be put into place and have someone to enforce them it's going to be a never ending battle. The losers will be the poor fur babies who die because of humans. They are helpless living breathing beings who deserve to be loved. They are the only ones who will love you mire than themselves. Please let's all stand and speak up for protection for all the precious ones.
