Florida Legislators : Continue to punish legal adults 18+, When they have sex with minors.

The Issue

As parents, we have a right to protect our children. This issue did not come up until one of the gay community own was arrested for having sex with a minor, Kaitlyn Hunt. Nobody should be able to use their sexual orientation, race, gender, etc, to change laws to their satisfaction. We can't help in the Kaitlyn Hunt case, they went to the media with false accusations that the victim parents was "homophobic bigots", which of course brought in alot of support from the gay community off false information. The Florida Law of when a person can consent to sex, is 16. It should remain that way. Nobody at the age of 18-years-old should  be protected, if they decide to violate the law and have sex with a minor. It should not be ok and it's not ok. A 18-year-old is legally a young adult, although still looked at as a teen. But in reality and by law, A 18-year-old is a young adult who have many privileges, independence, and experience about life, having completed or just about completed (3) sets of age schools. Elementary School, Middle School, and High School. You go to school for one thing, that is your education, and to make friends. Not have sex in school, and mess with the younger crew  relationship wise, because your in the same enviroment as them. A person under the age of 16, still have growing up to do. Still under their parents care, and too young to have sex, smoke, drink, etc, to began with. As parents yourselves, imagine being told your child should be taken from you because you, yourself would not let him or her have sex with whom they choose? Does that sound rational? Not it don't. Just like the United States have laws, us parents have rules, and should not be labeled as "bigots" for protecting our children. I am asking, along with many others that the Legislators of Florida, reject any law changes that would protect 18-year-olds when it comes down to them having sex with underage children. We're also asking Florida Legislators to keep the age for consensual sex at 16, as its appropriate.
