The Issue

Leah Reeder was attacked and mauled while walking her dog late at night near the panhandle. Although this is horrible news, we can't just go around euthanizing every bear in the area and ripping cubs away from their mothers and relocating them.

As humans, we take these risks moving near wooded areas or being around them. These are wild animals, and we are guests in their home. We can't just wander around and expect that everything will be OK. We are invading their home and land, and when we aren't welcome, we just kill them and rip the cubs away from their mother. And what if this was a mother bear that had mauled the young teen? If so, she was probably just protecting her cubs- they were more than likely near when the maul happened.

Put it in a different perspective: What if someone broke into our homes, and we attacked them? Should we then ben euthanized? Should every other family member be euthanized because they MAY have been involved in the attack?  Should our children (or beloved animals) be ripped from home, just after seeing their family killed in front of them?

If that sounds as a ridiculous solution when involving humans, it is a ridiculous solution concerning any other species.

They cannot speak for themselves. They need our help, right now, to speak up for them. Take a stand and protect our wildlife by signing this petition.
