U.S. Hwy 301 is a two lane road that is dark, dangerous and deadly! Since 2005 there have been 3 known fatal traffic accidents in front of Zephyrhills Correctional Institution. Two deaths were officers who worked for the Florida Department of Corrections and the third was a child! If we do not get proper turn lanes in front of this facility there will be more fatalities! We often have to come to a complete stop before turning into the facility and the drivers behind us do not see us stop which create 3-4 vehicle accidents. Our work family should not have to worry about losing their lives before even making it into the gate! Please make our road way safe so that we can arrive to work alive and continue to serve and protect.
