• Our teachers have been working without a new contract since June 30, 2013.

• Our teachers would prefer to settle their contract with the BOE before a costly mediation process takes place.

• Compared to our neighboring K-8 districts, including East Hanover & Hanover Township, our Florham Park teachers are earning comparably less while providing the same quality education we expect for our children.

• Monies being saved through staff retirements, reassignments, & resignations is called "breakage". Currently, this "breakage" is not being put back into the staff salaries.

• This money is already accounted for in the budget, so a contract settlement in favor of the teachers will not raise taxes.

• Meeting the needs of the teachers can be accomplished with the settlement of this contract while remaining fiscally responsible to the residents of Florham Park.

Signing this petition signifies to the Board of Education our support of the quality job we see being performed each and every day by the educational professionals and support staff at our public schools. Their effort and dedication is one of the many reasons that make our town such a desirable place to live and raise our families.
