The Philippines is one of the countries that often experience strong floods , especially during the rainy  season or when there is a typhoon. Because of this, it is very important to take measures to prevent or reduce the impact of flooding on each the lives and livelihoods of the people. This is called  control an important part of disaster risk reduction that every government and community should pay attention to.

Flooding does not only cause damage to property and infrastructure. It also causes the death of people, destruction of crops, losses of businesses, and the occurrence of diseases such as leptospirosis 

It cannot be denied that climate change is also flooding exacerbating the problem of flood. Therefore, flooding control must be integrated into the government's broader plan regarding disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation. Deeper studies, proper allocation of funds, and cooperation of all—from the government to ordinary citizens—are needed.
