Create a Third Cactus McCoy Game

Create a Third Cactus McCoy Game
The Issue
Flipline Studios released a platform game called "Cactus McCoy and the Curse of Thorns" on March 10th, 2011. The game was a success, and a great game. So Flipline decided to create a sequel, released on October 6th, 2011. The game was called "Cactus McCoy 2: The Ruins of Calavera". The game received even more praise than the original, and is known as arguable Flipline's best game. The game was met with popularity, and has continued to be popular with fans years later.
But Flipline Studios decided to look into other games instead of Cactus McCoy 3, constantly promising a 3rd Cactus McCoy game but never actually creating the game. Instead, Flipline's main focus was creating Gamerias, a series which now has 12 installements. There are 10 more Gamerias than there are Cactus McCoy games, due to Gamerias being more popular, and cheaper to make.
However, Flipline Studios continued to say that they would like to eventually create a Cactus McCoy 3. In a section on the blog, "Quinn's Q&A", when asked if they were going to continue the Cactus McCoy series, Flipline answered the following:
"We do have plans on continuing the Cactus McCoy series! Unfortunately, Cactus McCoy games take a very long time to make. We had plans of making the next game in the series last year, but it didn’t fit into our schedule and it had to be postponed. Before the game was delayed, we managed to get the pre-production done, the story hammered out, and some of the new weapons drawn up. We are also considering shortening the length of the games in order to better fit them into our schedule. Unfortunately, we don’t have a set date as to when work will resume on the next game. We just wanted to let all the Cactus McCoy fans out there know that we haven’t given up on our favorite green cowboy!"
That post was written in 2013.
A year went by, and nothing happened. Another year went by and nothing happened. Flipline continued to invest their time into games like Gamerias, not spending any time on a 3rd Cactus McCoy game. Protests started to be made. Users on Flipline Forum all changed their avatars to Cactus McCoy-related avatars to show support for a Cactus McCoy 3. A petition for Cactus McCoy 3 was also created on Flipline Forum. The petition received over 20 signatures, which is a pretty big deal for a forum of that size.
Finally, reports of Flipline's commitment to the game came. "We are making it, we have basic things done". But then the game went on hold once again. "It's still on hold GT, with the Flash games market changing and with the smaller size of the CMC fanbase we need to find a different way to fund the game if we wanna make it"
Flipline then explained why it was on hold. "But the reality of all of this is that free to play platformers do not perform very well across the internet. We don't get much out of them, money wise, especially since Mochiads closed down last year. That's why we haven't been able to put the time together to finish Cactus McCoy 3. "
Later, when asked if a Kickstarter is an option for Cactus McCoy 3, Flipline said it was something they were considering. However, when one of the forumers tried to start a Kickstarter in March 2016, Flipline responded to a question related to how much it would cost to make the game. "Hey, actually we would be the ones that would have to set up the Kickstarter for the game (I believe the creators have to be the ones that run the campaign). Not entirely sure yet what it would cost since we haven't actually planned the scope of a Cactus McCoy 3, but we'll definitely give it some thought when we do. Thanks for the support though!"
We are now waiting for Flipline to create a Kickstarter for Cactus McCoy 3. We will support it, and we want to show them that you will to. The idea is to show Flipline how much the fans of the Cactus McCoy series want a 3rd game, as a finale to a great trilogy. Flipline has been stalling creating more Gamerias when there hasn't been a single Cactus McCoy game since 2011. Let's show Flipline how much this matters.
