A hunter‐backed state agency recently sent an employee to visit Flat Rock Brook Nature Center in Englewood, NJ in an attempt to gain hunter access by opening the preserve to deer hunting. This agency is funded largely by the sale of hunting, trapping, and fishing licenses. Flat Rock Brook Nature Center has not ruled out a deer hunt. They hired New Jersey Audobon to write a plan in which deer killing is an integral part. New Jersey Audobon is the codirector of New Jersey Teaming with Wildlife (TWW), a gun and archery industry association. TWW's chief goal is to increase hunter recruitment and retention, largely through access to public and private land.
