Immediately make the Grenville Street Pedestrian Rail Crossing Safe

The safety at the Grenville Street in Hampton pedestrian rail crossing needs to be urgently upgraded with the installation of gates.

Whilst this work has been previously promised by the Victorian Government, it has not been delivered. There have been a number of tragic deaths at this crossing over the last few decades, the most recent of which occurred in April when 83-year-old old grandmother was killed by a train whilst walking her dog.

The Minister for Public Transport, the Hon. Melissa Horne MLC needs to immediately act and direct the Department of Transport to quickly undertake the previously committed safety improvements.
