Dear, to whom it may concern 

As the public representative, I am writing to express my concern and disappointment about the current state of the local public swimming pool at Kompleks Sukan Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai (MBSP). As you may already know, the pool has been closed since 23rd February 2023 due to its poor condition, which has greatly impacted the community, particularly the regular swimmers who use the pool for their health and training.

The pool has been notorious for its dirty water, which causes low visibility, and the leakage of water. Even the changing rooms are in an embarrassingly poor state. Despite the pool's closure, there has been no action taken towards repairing the pool, which has been extremely inconvenient for the community. The pool had been closed a couple of times, but the problems were never fixed.

Many people, especially the senior citizens over the age of 60, rely on the pool to do their daily exercises and maintain their health. As the only pool in the vicinity, it serves as a vital resource for the community's well-being. The regular swimmers who use the pool for their training, including state and country tournament swimmers preparing for competitions such as MSPP, MSSM, SUKMA, IRONMAN and OCEANMAN, have been greatly affected by the pool's closure. They require access to the pool at least four times a week, and the lack of access to the pool has affected their performance in these competitions.

Therefore, I urge you to take immediate action towards repairing the pool and reopening it for public use. The health and well-being of the community are at stake, and the closure of the pool has caused significant inconvenience to many individuals. I believe that it is the responsibility of the local government to ensure that the community has access to safe and well-maintained facilities, such as the public swimming pool.
