Thank you for your continued support. I’m sharing an update on the repeated failures of the lifts at Union station.

The only response I have received so far is via the media, as reported in the Herald Sun on 5 December 2024:

A Victorian government spokesperson stated:
“The lifts at Union Station were out of service for a short period of time. Technicians are currently carrying out further rectification works – they are fully operational, with all platforms accessible by stairs and lifts.”

The claim that the lifts were only "out of service for a short period of time" is false. The lifts have failed repeatedly, on multiple days, and for extended periods, creating serious accessibility and safety issues.

It remains to be seen whether the "rectification works" have resolved the issue.

I have written to Paul Hamer MP about this matter and will share any updates I receive.
