Union station, which replaced Mont Albert and Surrey Hills stations, opened in May 2023.

Since its opening, the station’s lifts have repeatedly failed during hot weather. When the lifts are out of service, the only way to access or exit the platforms is by using the stairs.

This creates a major accessibility issue.

Anyone who can't use stairs is prevented from using Union station on hot days.

Despite this problem occurring multiple times, no action has been taken to address the issue.

This is unacceptable.

Fix the Union station lifts so that they're reliable in all weather conditions.
