The Issue

I grew up along the Juapong to Abutia corridor, a vital lifeline for the over 49,000 people residing here. This road isn't just a strip of asphalt; it represents the heartbeat of our community. Families rely on it for travel to work, school, and accessing essential services. However, the current state of the road is appalling—it is unmotorable and dangerous.

The deteriorating condition of the road has reached a critical level, making it unsafe for vehicles and exacerbating travel time for residents. The poor road quality increases transport costs and restricts access to healthcare facilities and markets, directly impacting our livelihoods and quality of life. Businesses are suffering delays, and emergency services are hindered from reaching those in need.

The contractor assigned to this road project seems to be making little to no progress. Frequent delays and an apparent lack of oversight have left the road in a state of disrepair for too long. It appears as though the community's needs and the promises of progress have been overlooked.

We call upon the Ghanaian government to urgently prioritize the repair and completion of the Juapong to Abutia road. Allocating proper resources, ensuring regular oversight, and holding project stakeholders accountable are necessary steps to ensure speedy completion of this vital infrastructure.

Let's break the cycle of neglect and work towards a solution that profoundly benefits our community. If unaddressed, the continuing degradation of this critical artery will only extend the suffering and economic hardship of everyone who depends on it.

I urge you to stand in solidarity with those affected and demand immediate action from our government. Sign this petition to restore the Juapong to Abutia corridor—the road to our future.
