The feral cats in our community are sick with a respiratory illness. Some are now dying. Our children play in the same areas where these cats walk over and could potentially spread deadly disease. We walk from our vehicles after a day of work, and we are tracking in potentially deadly disease into our homes.

  This is not the fault of the feral cats. They didn’t make the choice to be feral and to suffer every day, much less to die from horrific illnesses out in the cold with limited shelter.

  For years, the management has told us to simply not feed the cats, that they would “go somewhere else”. That is a lie  - they jump into the dumpsters and feed from our scraps. They’re going to continue to multiply, suffer and get sick. For years, the management has done nothing to reach out to the many organizations out there that service Harris county to make an effort to at least spay/neuter these cats and give them shots - even if they get returned here, at least more cats won’t keep happening.

  With these cats getting sick and some now dying, not only is it sad, but our children can get too close to the  body while it is in decay and die. Even us tracking in these pathogens can be harmful to us. Many times have bodies decayed just over the fence on the Eastern side of the community. The decay not only leaves a foul odor in our lungs, trachea, sinuses and mouths - it leaves pathogens, too.

  It’s time for us to demand that Jasmine Park apartments under Adara Communities to take action to at least stop the cats from making more kittens, to ultimately protect our health. They take enough of our money on “pest control” or building structures we won’t even use, and yet there are no traps set to capture these animals and help them.

Durante años, la administración no ha hecho nada para comunicarse con las muchas organizaciones que prestan servicios en el condado de Harris para hacer un esfuerzo por al menos esterilizar/castrar a estos gatos y vacunarlos; incluso si son devueltos aquí, al menos ganaron más gatos. no siga pasando.

  Con estos gatos enfermándose y algunos muriendo, no solo es triste, sino que nuestros hijos pueden acercarse demasiado al cuerpo mientras está en descomposición y morir. Incluso nosotros rastreando estos patógenos puede ser perjudicial para nosotros. Muchas veces los cuerpos se descomponen justo sobre la cerca en el lado este de la comunidad. La descomposición no solo deja un mal olor en los pulmones, la tráquea, los senos paranasales y la boca, sino que también deja patógenos.

Toman suficiente de nuestro dinero en "control de plagas" o en la construcción de estructuras que ni siquiera usaremos y, sin embargo, no hay trampas para capturar a estos animales y ayudarlos.
