Another major landslip after days of heavy rain on the Brown Mountain on Saturday 2nd December, 2023. Yet we're still waiting on Transport NSW to start work on the landslip from March 2022 ( yes 2022!) which has cut Brown Mountain traffic down to single-lane red light access that is going to last an estimated 27 months. An inexcusable blockage in the main transport artery for the Bega Valley and the Sapphire Coast for vital tourism, fuel, health, agriculture, education and family contacts. So it's OK for the NSW and Federal governments to spend $4 BILLION on the spaghetti junction Rozelle Interchange in Sydney with 24kms of tunnels. and ramps. But they can't rake up a lousy $15m for a proper, independent, expert external study of how to FIX THE BROWN or identify a viable alternative route 1,000m up the Great Divide escarpment.
