When this forest giant fell on the Brown Mountain road, luckily no one was hurt but this official State highway was closed in both directions while emergency services got to work.   There's an ever-present danger of unpredictable tree and rock falls, landslides and landslips on the Brown Mountain section of the Snowy Mountains Highway linking the Sapphire Coast and the Bega Valley to Canberra, Sydney, the Monaro and the Riverina. That's why the FIX THE BROWN campaign asks you to view the video, then sign share the online petition at fixthebrown.com.  THAT'S HOW we can gain the attention and action of the decision-makers in the Federal and NSW governments to upgrade the unsafe, unstable, unreliable and unsustainable Brown Mountain. The first essential step is for political leaders to fund a $15m. independent engineering options feasibility study to deliver professional engineers' advice on how to upgrade the worst mountain pass highway section in NSW, or identify a sustainable alternative route up the Great Divide.
