Fix Our Park, Fuel our Future: Revive Longmont Skatepark
The Issue
The Longmont Recreation Center Skatepark was once a thriving hub for skaters, BMX riders, scooter riders, and rollerskaters—a place where youth gathered, built friendships, and stayed active. Now, it’s fallen into disrepair. Broken and missing features have made it unsafe and nearly unusable. Still, the community hasn’t given up. Local skaters have been fixing features themselves and bringing in DIY obstacles, proving the need—and desire—for a safe, dedicated space.
If we don’t act, we risk losing this important community space entirely. But with investment, the skatepark could once again be a place for learning, movement, and connection. Well-built skateparks promote respect, ownership, and positive youth development. We're already working with a professional action sports design team that’s helped improve parks across Northern Colorado. Together, we’re ready to partner with the city to rebuild this park the right way.
The momentum is here. The community is ready. We just need the city’s support to move forward. Longmont has an opportunity to revitalize this vital space—not just for today’s skaters, but for future generations. Please sign and share this petition to show your support for restoring and upgrading the Longmont Recreation Center Skatepark.
