June 2026 has so far been the most challenging month of this campaign.
Compared to earlier months, our campaign's growth and momentum has slowed significantly and we have only managed to gain roughly 40 signatures throughout the entire month compared to May 2026 (where we started with 260 and finished with roughly 370) and the earlier months, which is in stark contrast to the week between April 7th and April 13th where we amassed over 50 signatures.
As this petition is about the date of Easter, I had expected to see a significant drop in momentum for the petition after April however May 2026 surprised me as we accumulated over 100 signatures throughout the month.
Although (obviously) April 2026 was a difficult month for my mental health and calendar distress, June 2026 has been yet the most challenging month in this petition's growth, after reaching 366 signatures on May 28th and 379 on June 3rd, our campaign's growth slowed significantly after hitting 379 prompting me to post an unscheduled update that the petition's growth was in crisis. We have since crossed the 400 signature milestone on June 18th but even now we have only gained roughly 8 signatures since then, meaning that unfortunately this petition has lost its initial momentum which is why I have set the 500 signature target by August 31st, not July.
We are seriously lacking international signatures - to date, we have absolutely NO SIGNATURES WHATSOEVER from Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and even our "shameful" neighbour/neighbor, the Republic of Ireland, with only two from Australia and five from the United States. This is a global petition which is why I am using the American spelling as well as the British, though we have got some international signatures from other countries such as Spain, Myanmar and Kazakhstan. I have (annoyingly) and ironically reached Canada on a separate parallel petition about a cause solely based in the UK!
Our UK supporter base is evenly distributed throughout the country and not heavily concentrated around London where I live, with a significant amount (roughly 25%) in Scotland and we have signatures from all four home nations (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland).
Lastly, our signature count is independent of whether (or not) all my supporters are still alive - this campaign has been running for four months now and there is a very unlikely (but definitely possible) chance that one or more of my supporters has passed away since signing this petition (quite ironic given the petition's title)!
Even if I do have deceased supporters, their signature is still included in the total and I imaging that given the years I am targeting for my proposed March 22nd Gregorian date shift, that most of my supporters are in their twenties or thirties.
This petition needs signatures and momentum year-round, it is not designed to be a petition that only collects signatures in the spring.
I love reading about my petition and its updates on Google's AI overview, though the AI overview doesn't realise I'm the one looking at my own campaign, when I ask the AI questions like, "did he (myself) like seeing "Easter on the wrong date" in shops?"!!
