My fellow supporters,

We will wait until this current promotion completes its cycle (which has taken much longer than I had anticipated) before our week-long hiatus of paid promotion ads and closure to new signatures.

This will help change.org which needs to prioritise on promoting other current petitions to users, for the benefit for those promotions to take less time, and to jump-start momentum on this petition and reach my next milestones with a fresh start after non-stop campaigning for nearly five months.

This decision was not taken lightly, but for the overall long term health and success of the campaign, we need to understand that change.org is a website that millions or people use around the world which needs to prioritise trending viral campaigns without my ‘slow growth’ petition taking up all of those views and I want to clear space for other change.org users needing to promote petitions.

The main reason for this temporary closure is due to the recent slow campaign growth, while that ‘physically’ makes a petition stuck on a set certain number of signatures, you are the one in control of it and I would rather keep the petition closed to signatures for a week than get stuck on a certain number of signatures for days on end which is exactly what has happened during my recent promotions.

I urge all of you reading this page to watch the FIFA Women’s World Cup next year as it deserves the same level of recognition as the men’s tournament (just like how Orthodox holidays need to be treated and recognised)!

I came across another Reddit post poll asking, ‘how many of your grandparents are still alive?’, this completely ignores the existence of great aunts (a biological grandparent’s sibling), just like Western society completely ignores Orthodox holidays!

I will post my next (54th) update when this current promotion completes to announce the one-week suspension of campaign activities and will update you again when the petition reopens to new signatures and during my week off, I will abandon the global scope and reset it to ‘Local’ targeting Darwin, Australia just to see what happens when I promote the petition again after the closure!

My new spin-off petition, titled “Make ‘global’ petitions on change.org ‘global’ and scrap the 3 email per week limit” is also struggling to reach its first milestone of 5 signatures, having been completely stuck on 3 signatures for four consecutive days – the only reason it is visible despite having less than 5 signatures is because I have provided the direct link to it on this existing petition with over 410 signatures.

Now that I know that most of my supporters are in the UK, who knows, those in England maybe footballs coming home (sorry about the Group Stage exit to those supporters in Scotland)!

Just like I saw “Easter on the wrong date” in shops, “Scotland were in the wrong group” because they were in the same group as Brazil (5 time world champions) which mathematically made it harder for them to reach the knockout stage!

A total of eleven (not eight) teams have won a FIFA world cup, including the three successful women’s teams of Norway, USA and Japan (with the women’s tournament debuting in 1991, the unique ‘double March’ Easter year). These victories should be respected and not swept under the carpet like Orthodox holidays – England’s two recent women’s Euro victories and even England winning the Rugby World Cup in 2003 are treated exactly like Orthodox holidays in Western society!

I am using FIFA World Cup terminology to make this Easter petition sound “current” and my next update will be when the petition closes followed by an update when it reopens.

Mr Easter.
