Today, April 25th 2026 (the latest Gregorian Easter date) we have officially hit an extremely important and monumental milestone, A QUARTER THOUSAND SIGNATURES!

This year has two Halloweens, the scary Alice in Wonderland Day on April 5th and Halloween on October 31st!

As stated above, literally a quarter of a thousand people have signed this unique petition and have heard my “March 22nd 2026 Easter” story, which for me is a remarkable achievement. Despite the title of this campaign, it is NOT just about fixing Easter to March 22nd within the next 30 years, this is a multi-cause campaign that advocated for:

  • 1.     Demanding churches, religious officials and government officials to officially move Easter 2043, 2054 or 2065 from March 29th to March 22nd.

  • 2.     Addressing the severe lack of recognition for Orthodox and Coptic holidays in seven “shameful” English-speaking countries (Republic of Ireland, USA, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia) as well as the UK which all shamefully FAIL to officially recognise these important holidays.

  • 3.     Raising awareness for autism and neurodiversity to help the general neurotypical public how certain fixations affect neurodivergent individuals (like my March 22nd obsession which has been dominating my life).

  • 4.     Getting my very personal and unique story heard about my celebration of Easter on Sunday 22nd March 2026 (a date no church officially recognises) and being in an extremely small non-existent minority of just 0.0000000000000000000000000000001% of all people globally celebrating Easter on March 22nd 2026!

At least with Orthodox Easter, despite a lack of official recognition here in the UK, it is a date officially recognised by the Greek Orthodox Church whereas my March 22nd 2026 celebration was a date not recognised by any church globally, so using the change.org platform has truly helped me share my story heard because being in a non-existent minority was not a nice feeling, being in a majority of just 0.0000000000000000000000000000001% of people globally.

I have kept this campaign a secret from even my closest family members for privacy, although they of course know just how difficult April 2026 really has been for me and obviously would find out I’m the campaigner if they ever accidentally came across it!

I have a younger sister and my real first name begins with the letter “R”, it could be Richard, it could be Rupert or it could be Ronald, but that’s all I will disclose. I was born in February of a “boring year” 1993 (a year where neither Western nor Orthodox Easter hits any date within a week of the earliest or latest possible boundaries or the “exact middle” date) and I personally gave up flushing toilet roll for Lent after seeing TripAdvisor reports about the Land of the Extreme Easter Dates!

Something that has really helped me get through my awful anti-Easter Alice in Wonderland Day were 2010 Alice in Wonderland bedsheets which I received as a Christmas present in the run up to “Alice Day”. Alice is not a random name for the dreaded date, as one of my recipients of my Amazon “Busy Bee” books is named Alice (a person I personally know as part of another autism group outside of Kingston-upon-Thames).

Although I no longer want to target the years 2037 or 2048 for my proposed date change, I strongly oppose a permanently unified Easter date every year as I like the Orthodox church maintaining the use of the Julian calendar so Orthodox Christians can see all their “extreme” dates.

With the lack of recognition for Orthodox and Coptic holidays, quite literally Orthodox Children are “EGGScluded” from egg hunts and Easter egg trails for their holidays due to the way Western society behaves, and Easter eggs in shops will have literally past their “sell by” or “best before” date long before the Orthodox Easter date arrives in years like 2024!

Standard Easter Monday (yet alone Orthodox Easter Monday) is not a bank holiday in Scotland and school terms often resume after Christmas as early as January 3rd – this is even before Western Christian feast days like Twelfth Night (5th January) and Three Kings Day (6th January) so that disadvantages even Western Christians!

I have even exceeded the signature count of another unrelated petition I created way back in July 2024 so for me, reaching this level of support in record time has been a huge achievement (despite chipping in over £1000 to promote the petition)!

2022 is a “boring year” despite Orthodox Easter falling on Sunday 24th April (the same Gregorian date as Western Easter’s second-latest date).

When we reach 366 signatures hopefully by late May, that literally “all birthdays ticked”!

A bit about me, the “Easter campaigner”:

We are roughly two months into the campaign, so a lot of you may be wondering what I actually do beside my date obsession. Obviously one of my hobbies is creating petitions on change.org, but as you may have guessed I am a talented musician having obtained a 2:2 BMus degree from Kingston University back in the “boring” year 2017, hence my musical note analogy in my previous campaign updates and have launched a separate (though less prominent with much fewer signatures) change.org campaign to give all twelve pitches in the Western scale their own distinct letter names.

I was a self-employed music graduate and performed at an old folks home from January 2018 to 2020 which sadly closed down for good due to COVID. During lockdown in the “boring” year of 2020, I discovered a passion for horticulture and have since retrained in this field obtaining my City & Guilds Level 2 and 3 qualifications, with two temporary jobs at Hampton Court Palace within the glasshouse nursery during the summer of the "boring" 2022 and a temporary role at Battersea Power station in November 2024.

I currently enjoy gardening and volunteer within the rose garden at Morden Hall Park where (you guessed it) I avoided over the “Alice season” and enjoy gardening at home.

I am a member of the Larch club in Kingston which was set up in 2023, a "boring year"!
