Petition updateFix Easter date to 22nd March (earliest date) in either 2043 or 2054 - BEFORE WE DIE!!!!!My “Earliest Easter Obsession” has cost me £1,000!

I have now reveal that I have chipped in over £800 to promote my campaign, and along with my Christmas shopping purchasing all those customisable diaries on Amazon.co.uk totalling nearly £200, its safe to say my "March 22nd Easter" obsession has cost me £1K!

The money has been worth it, though, as this campaign has been a coping mechanism throughout the difficult spring season I had been facing this year. I knew it was inevitable I would see signs for Easter on the “wrong” date in shops and parks during the run up to “Alice in Wonderland Day” which is why I did all that preparation and ultimately launched this campaign as I was dreading April 5th.

The whole world has been out of whack with my personal liturgical schedule so I had to prepare by purchasing all of those diaries so that they knew I was “two weeks ahead” of them and I even found it difficult hearing other people’s conversations about the official date of Easter because they would say “April 5th” not “March 22nd” so launching this campaign has literally saved my life as over 150 people have now heard about my story and I feel I’m not alone in my March 22nd 2026 celebration.

Being two weeks ahead of everyone else has been tough, as it was not only the official Easter date I had to contend with, it was also signs for “Shrove Tuesday” and ‘Mothering Sunday” that I found difficult to see as they were two weeks later than my personal “internal calendar” which had set the date of Easter to Sunday, 22nd March 2026. 2027 won’t be like that as I will revert to celebrating at the same time as everybody else and will accomplish the feat of celebrating Easter in March in two successive years (2026 and 2027) – I have MUCH LESS CHRISTMAS SHOPPING TO DO THIS YEAR!

As we approach 2026’s third and final Easter date, we look back how this campaign has helped me through a difficult time I have been facing and anticipating for nearly a whole year when I came across that Reddit post on the BarbaraWalters4Scale forum in May last year.

Although there is (obviously) no guarantee I will still be alive in 2038, we need to fix Easter Sunday to March 22nd in 2043, 2054 or even 2065 to make sure it fits within reach of the human lifespan, since as a neurodivergent individual I cherish these calendrical anomalies.

Seeing the earliest possible date has already been a reality for the Orthodox community, now we have 17 years to plan and make this a reality for ourselves, hopefully with more signatures and support, we will get there.

Aside from my personal celebration on March 22nd, on the Julian calendar Easter 2026 is technically in March, as the Julian calendar date is March 30th even though it is April 12th on our modern calendar.

The year 1991 (when Orthodox Easter hit its fourth-earliest possible date) was unique because it featured a March date on BOTH the Julian and Gregorian calendars March 31st on the modern Gregorian calendar and March 25th Julian/April 7th Gregorian – it was a unique “double March Easter” year.

This campaign is far from over, this “impossible dream” has already been possible for the Orthodox population but we need as many signatures as possible so all Christians get to see the earliest possible Easter date.
