The CSULB CINE department has been slowly descending into obscurity and students are becoming increasingly restless seeing their education being wasted in this way. Students across all divisions of the department have expressed disdain and resentment with the quality of education compared to the cost they're paying. They are tired of seeing their money go to waste in a department that is only devolving and clearly does not care about student issues. They want their voices to be heard and they want change. The heads of this department need to do something. We need to see real, positive, change. If you have an issue with the CINE department, please leave it below in a comment. The only way things will change is to force them to listen. 

What we want:

Actual working AC and bathrooms

better access to equipment outside classes

a focus not on paperwork only, but all aspects of actual pre-production

not having the same exact required classes (220+305 + on set safety) (stop using Bruce Block for every class, it’s so outdated)

to be able to learn within our preferred track for the first 2/3 YEARS

queer/ actual experimental classes back

profs not teaching stuff they have no knowledge about just because the department is under staffed 

guest speakers

reduced hostility towards mistakes 

We’re paying so much to be here already, none of this is unreasonable. Almost every other film school or even community college has far surpassed us in quality of education. We just want to see our tuition going somewhere good.
