Fix Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for PC

The Issue

I’ve spent countless hours playing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War with my cousin, and it holds a special place in my heart. But as a dedicated fan, it’s incredibly frustrating to deal with constant crashes and issues that disrupt the experience.

From a technical standpoint, it is unacceptable that this high-profile, costly title from Activision continues to crash on PC after only a few minutes of gameplay, displaying persistent “Scan and Repair” errors. Moreover, the lack of a robust anti-cheat system—unlike other older or less expensive games that use BattlEye or Valve Anti-Cheat (at least) —undermines the fairness of competitive play. Introducing Ricochet Anti-Cheat or a similarly strong solution is critical to restoring trust in the online community.

We urge Activision to release an update resolving these persistent technical issues across all PC platforms and to implement a reliable anti-cheat system. By signing this petition, you support a fair, functional, and enjoyable gaming environment for all Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players.

It’s striking to see the volume of posts and comments across Cold War communities—especially on Reddit and Steam—highlighting that most PC players still face these crashing issues. This widespread problem is openly discussed and well-documented by the community.
