Hi Everyone,

Based on this new info, I've updated the two flyers; "SAVE YOUR HOME" and "FACTS & TALKING POINTS".  I've also cut and pasted the HJTA ACTION ALERT from this morning. I reversed the committee order, and added a note to call Caballero first. I also made two versions, one with the HJTA banner, and one without. 

I also had an informative conversation with the aide at Senator Seyarto’s office yesterday (Kelly Seyarto is co-author of the SCA 4 bill, and Vice Chair on one committee.) Everything his aide told me aligns with the HJTA Action Alert this morning!

He said to contact the Senate Governance and Finance Committee first, because it will go there first. If it passes, then it will go to the second committee, the Senate Elections and Constitutional Amendment Committee. 

It's important to call and write as much as possible, there's strength in numbers!  He has seen proposed bills that get flooded with so many calls that they get attention – and they get on the ballot!

He also told me the most important person to call now is Senator Anna Caballero, the Chair of the Government and Finance Committee, because committee members almost always vote as the Chair recommends!  

If you only make one call, call Senator Anna Caballero at 916-651-4014.

The best numbers to call are the Sacramento office numbers, which are set up for legislation calls. The local district offices are set up for constituent services.

Calling is best, but also write! We are more informed than most, so let's let them know by email in more detail about how Prop 19 is affecting people.
