Thank you so very much for volunteering to collect signatures to Repeal the Death Tax! The time has come to send them back to us!

We have received some calls from volunteers asking if we need their petitions.

YES!!!

We need every one of them. The deadline has been extended to 5:00 p.m. on Friday to have the petitions in the Sacramento office. Send them to this address:

Under state law, we have 180 days to complete signature collection and turn in the petitions to the county. That period ends on May 3, but obviously we can't possibly open envelopes, sort petitions and get them to the counties if they come in on May 3. We're trying to get them to the counties by April 29 at the latest.

Do you have signed petitions lying on a table or in your car? PLEASE SEND THEM BACK, even if it's a little past the deadline. We can't count them if they're on your couch!

One more last-chance opportunity to sign the petition or drop off signed petitions: On Friday and Saturday, HJTA will have an exhibitors' table at the California Republican Party convention at the Anaheim Marriott (located at 700 W.Convention Way, Anaheim, CA 92802) and we'll have petitions there for both Repeal the Death Tax and the Taxpayer Protection Act. If you're in the area and would like to come by to sign the petition, drop off petitions or volunteer at the table, you're welcome to join us! I think we'll be there until 8:00 p.m. both days, but email me on Friday at Susan@hjta.orgif you want to be sure. (The staff of the L.A. office will be in Anaheim at the convention on Friday, so Thursday is the last day to drop off petitions at the L.A. office.)
