You’re invited to a Zoom meeting for “Repeal the Death Tax” volunteers
Thank you for signing up to be a volunteer to help Repeal the Death Tax! Whether you’ve just recently signed up or you’ve already been helping the campaign, we’re so grateful to have you onboard.
As you know, the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association has filed an initiative to repeal the death tax on property that was in the small print of Proposition 19, which narrowly passed last November. HJTA’s new initiative will restore the ability of parents or grandparents to transfer property to children without triggering a reassessment and a huge tax increase.
We’re holding an online Zoom meeting for volunteers on Friday, November 5, at 3:00 p.m., and you are cordially invited. Legislative Director Scott Kaufman will have an update on the progress of the initiative campaign and we will be happy to answer your questions about the work ahead to qualify the measure for the November 2022 ballot. We have exciting news: the title and summary have been released by the attorney general and we’re cleared to collect signatures just as soon as we can get the final version of the petitions approved and printed.
