As you know, the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association has filed an initiative to repeal the death tax on property that was in the small print of Proposition 19, which narrowly passed last November. HJTA’s new initiative will restore the ability of parents or grandparents to transfer property to children without triggering a reassessment and a huge tax increase.

They are holding an online Zoom meeting for volunteers on Friday, October 8, at 3:00 p.m., Legislative Director Scott Kaufman will have an update on the progress of the initiative campaign and be happy to answer your questions about the work ahead to qualify the measure for the November 2022 ballot.
