This is from Senator Bates office:

"Sen. Bates’ SB 668 is essentially dead due to a lack of support from Senate Democrats. She discussed the Prop. 19 issue with Sen. Mike McGuire after his committee took testimony on SB 668 on May 7, but they have not come to an agreement on the bill.

The Senate approved SB 539 (authored by Sen. Bob Hertzberg) on June 3 that clarifies Prop. 19’s implementation issues, but it does not include what Sen. Bates was trying to accomplish with SB 668. She asked Sen. Hertzberg to incorporate SB 668 into his bill, but he declined.

I defer to Asm. Kiley’s office regarding his ACA 9."

Hertzberg's SB 539 is a blank check to execute Proposition 19 that we should not allow.

Please contact your local Senator and Assemblymember to support SB 668 and to NOT support SB 539. Consistent emailing and calling of your representatives works. Please do so. When ACA 9 is more well known, we need to ask our representatives to support that big time.
