Off-Campus Lunch at Wakeland High School for Upperclassmen with passing classes

The Issue

At Wakeland High School, many students would benefit from the opportunity of having off-campus lunches. At Wakeland, all four grades have an hour for lunch at the same time. As lunch starts, hallways are filled with students eating lunch on the floor, while the cafeteria is full. With this being said, students should have the ability to leave during lunch, if they are passing all of their classes with an 85% or higher. I believe this is entirely fair, because then it becomes a reward and students are more motivated to get better grades, and get rewarded with off campus lunches. If students do not return after the lunch bell rings, that is their personal attendance and fault. Juniors and Seniors should have the ability to run to their car during lunch, pick up lunch, run home to pick something up, etc.. As much as I hate to say it, many students already leave for lunch and faculty members are well aware. Most teachers agree with off campus lunches, because it is beneficial to the student in numerous ways. Allowing upperclassmen to have off-campus lunch is a great way to get students to be encouraged to pass their classes.
