The Issue

We are asking the First Minister of Scotland to expand the extended household policy to allow those with a child/ren under 5 to ‘bubble’ up with one other household of new parents or family members for support.

Parental mental health is so important for the wellbeing and development of young babies and children, and in person contact with others in the same boat and with family is vital to that end.

Attending antenatal education, baby classes and toddler classes, which are operating under strict health and safety requirements and with a limited number of parents, is an essential aspect of becoming a new parent, both for support for parents and also to learn new skills for each baby and child's development.

We would respectfully ask the First Minister to allow parents to form these "bubbles" and for classes to reopen with immediate effect.
