Install SheBuiltNYC Billie Holiday statue in Addisleigh Park, not Queens Borough Hall
Why this petition matters

The She Built NYC organization is planning to install a number of statues across NYC honoring pioneering women. Of those women being honored, a statue of Billie Holiday is planned at Queens Borough Hall which is not the best location to honor her nor her life. A more appropriate place to honor Billie Holliday would be to have her statue placed in the historic district of Addisleigh Park. Addisleigh Park is was home to Fat’s Waller, Count Basie, John Coltrane, Ella Fitzgerald, Milt Hinton, Lena Horne, Mercer Ellington, James Brown, Billie Holiday, Joe Louis, Jackie Robinson and many other greats. Based the great history of Addisleigh Park, it's appropriate that her statue is installed in an area where her contemporaries lived.
Make your voice heard and urge First Lady Chirlane McCray and She Built NYC to install the statue of Billie Holiday in Addisleigh Park, the historical district within St. Albans Queens.
