Cansadas de esperar justicia en Colombia durante décadas, víctimas de ejecuciones extrajudiciales y organizaciones de derechos humanos  acudimos a la Justicia Universal en Argentina. Interpusimos una querella (o denuncia) para esclarecer la responsabilidad del expresidente colombiano, Álvaro Uribe Vélez, por las ejecuciones extrajudiciales cometidas por el Ejército colombiano durante su mandato.

Tras casi dos años de estudio preliminar, el Juez Federal Número Dos, Sebastián Ramos, ha notificado el archivo de la investigación preliminar que inició en noviembre de 2023. Como víctimas y organizaciones querellantes presentamos una apelación para dar continuidad al proceso judicial.

Ahora esta solicitud para revocar el archivo será estudiada por la Cámara de Apelaciones de Argentina, esperamos que la investigación se reabra. La negación de iniciar una investigación que cumpla con los estándares internacionales, vulnera los derechos de las víctimas a la verdad y la justicia por los que propende el principio de Jurisdicción Universal. 

Necesitamos tu apoyo para que la justicia argentina entienda que las víctimas no están solas, que Colombia y el mundo merece saber la verdad y que haya justicia.

Tired of waiting decades for justice in Colombia, victims of extrajudicial executions and human rights organisations appealed to Universal Justice in Argentina. We filed a lawsuit (or complaint) to clarify the responsibility of former Colombian President Álvaro Uribe Vélez for the extrajudicial executions committed by the Colombian Army during his administration.

After almost two years of preliminary investigation, Federal Judge Number Two, Sebastián Ramos, has notified the closure of the preliminary investigation that began in November 2023. As victims and prosecuting organisations, we have filed an appeal to continue the legal process.

This request to revoke the closure will now be reviewed by the Argentine Court of Appeals, and we hope that the investigation will be reopened. The refusal to initiate an investigation that satisfies international standards violates the victims' rights to truth and justice, which are upheld by the principle of universal jurisdiction. 

We need your support so that the Argentine justice system understands that the victims are not alone, that Colombia and the world deserve to know the truth and that justice must be served.
